My story starts back in the Eastern part of Romania, where I was born.I was a very active child, I had endless energy resources and I loved sports. This is how my athletic career started in track & field..I didn’t do competitions in but in my summer holidays I used to train 2 times a day, about 3 hours each time. I loved to sprint but I didn’t like the long distance runs which is kind of ironical now that I have to do so much cardio as a competitive bodybuilder.
Later, I started to attend aerobics classes and I loved the fitness part of it, working with weights. At 19, I joined a gym in my native town just to keep fit and lose some weight and this is how it all started.
That was the moment I fell in love with bodybuilding.
I remember, upon starting to go to the little gym in my quiet native town, I began to read the little thin bodybuilding magazines that I could find on the Romanian market at that time.
The competition movement in Romanian bodybuilding was kind of poor at that time, but I remember one girl in the gym getting ready for a National Junior Championship…and I admit I felt admiration for her and I wished I had her muscles .
I kept on training for the next two years until one day I entered another gym in another town, where I was a student, and the trainer there saw my potential and suggested to me I should train to compete. I’ll never forget how honored I felt…and how happy.
My first show took place in 2000, a small Romanian regional show and I kept on competing almost every year till this day, my highest placings and titles I am mostly proud of being the 2013 and 2014 Ms. Olympia runner-up.
My college education encompasses the linguistic field (I have a Bachelor Degree in English and Romanian language and literature), which helped me a lot once I moved to USA. In 2006 I have moved to Switzerland where I have lived for 5 years before moving to USA. During this time I have come in contact with the local fitness and bodybuilding scene, I have won the Overall World Champion title and qualified for my IFBB pro card and started training Swiss athletes for different local or international events.
During this journey I have learned so much about nutrition, training, fitness lifestyle and wellness.
My passion for weight lifting made me realize that incorporating it into a healthy life style extended beyond just the gym. I loved to go deeper not only into the different beneficial ways of achieving different fitness goals through gym workouts but into the nutritional aspect, as well as beauty and wellness.
After moving from Switzerland to USA, I was lucky enough to join the very positive and fitness oriented community of people at Armbrust pro gym in Colorado. It was the right place to keep on applying my knowledge working with clients from different areas of fitness.
I have been working with clients who were in need of a complete makeover (full body change, a.k.a. Overweight), clients who wanted to target specific body areas, clients who wanted to learn how to apply and live a certain fit life style. From just toning up to getting sharp-stage ready, my job has always involved my passion for the sport and my view on how beneficial it can be to us.
I also work with all many pro and amateur athletes. From bikini, figure, fitness, physique and bodybuilding, both men and women.
Changing your life habits, learning to acquire and keep a healthy life style, getting ready to compete in any of these classes, all share the same common features: hard work, dedication, determination, self discipline. Your motivation in any of these directions is the biggest factor that will draw you to success or failure.
I do believe that being a great personal trainer involves a counseling element as well: I am not only giving you my knowledge but also the key on how to apply it for utmost efficiency.
